  Lowes refuses to take care of their customers. Today my father called lowes customer service about a warranty for his log splitter. At the time purchase he had bought the extended warranty and was told that the warranty extends an additional three years after the manufacturers warranty ends. So in total that would make five years. However today when he called -three years and five months after when he first purchased it- he was told that the extended warranty only covers three years from the date of purchase. That being said he then explained, the problem with the splitter is that the beam that supports the piston is separating at the weld points. He also explained that it is something that he had noticed last year but he was busy caring for his terminally ill wife and wasn't able to call customer service at that time. So he politely asked if there was anything they could do to help him, considering it was an extenuating circumstance and the defect is obviously a problem in the weld. They were still unwilling to help. He was then handed over to a supervisor. Although everyone was very friendly they were still unwilling to help. This is not the type of customer service that we would expect, and he now owns a $1200 paper weight. Paying all the extra money for an "extended warranty" was certainly not worth it. Shame on you Lowes.
